I stumbled into triathlon somewhat by accident.

As a devoted multi-sport athlete (read as adventure racing) trail runner and ultra runner, as well as a charity board serving volunteer, I was in a constant search to combine the two and get away from boring, monotonous, unproductive board meetings! I volunteered to help at a local foot race, but was turned down cause they were “a finely tuned machine and didn’t need the help of someone with no experience”. I kept after it until I found a little Full Distance triathlon that was just forming. I volunteered to be the sponsorship director the first year. As with any volunteer activity, if you can spell your name correctly they want you to do more. What did that get me? Year two I was named the race director and have been there since.

Having no previous experience it has been a trial by fire, and a big one at that. The greatest thing about this new found passion is the incredible people that participate in and volunteer for all of the related activities. Without a doubt the best group of people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and working beside. Whether in a training course for officiating, or race directing, volunteering at an ITU or national event, or working at a local duathlon, I am enjoying every minute of it.

Permitting/Course Direction, Iron Kids/Oklahoma City
Former USAT Certified Official
Ardent supporter and volunteer for Tri-OKC
Soon-to-be functioning again multi-sport athlete

In my coexisting “normal” life I am currently the Director of Operations for a large beverage distributor but like to keep busy and keep plenty on my plate.

Hence, my other activities include:

Race Director, 24 Hours the Hard Way (a 6,12 and 24 Hour On & Off Road Event)
Founder/Director, Oklahoma Trail Running Association
